Germiston’s Emma releases her second single

“Through my music, I aim to create a space that allows people to feel their emotions in a world where true feelings are suppressed."

Germiston resident Emma Temlett is living her dream of making music.

The rising star just released her second song, Messy, after her debut song, Claustrophobic, which was well received and is currently on rotation with Jacaranda FM.

The 16-year-old said the success of her first song motivated Messy.

Germiston City News speaks to her about was inspires her songs.

“My songs are my personal life experiences. I wrote Messy when I was completely love-struck by someone who was, in the long run, detrimental to my happiness. I found myself in a situation I could only describe as messy,” shares Emma.

She says music has always been her first love.

“I have a passion for singing and I recently started writing and I love it. I’m able to put my feelings into words and make a beautiful piece out of them,” says Emma.

She says she is excited about the music journey she has started and excited about sharing her music with the world.

“Through my music, I aim to create a space that allows people to feel their emotions in a world where true feelings are suppressed. I want to make people feel the way I feel when listening to good music – nothing heals the heart like a song,” says Emma.

The rising star has been working with platinum-selling and 3x SAMA-nominated producer and artist Daniel Baron at Hit Kitchen Studios.

“It has been amazing to work with the best in the industry because he understands the music scene but also allows me to do my thing,” says the youngster.

Since she released her first song, Emma has had the opportunity to perform at the annual Redfest, sharing the stage with the likes of Mi Casa and Jesse Clegg.

Emma also performed at the Hanger SAA Museum at Rand Airport, Germiston on December 9.
