Local theatre hosts Christmas carols concert

A Christmas carols concert ignited the festive season spirit at Germiston’s Dumisani Masilela Theatre on December 10.

The theatre enthusiasts were thrilled by the carol concert, ‘Ubunye, uthando nokwabelana naloKhismusi: Unity, love and sharing this Christmas’.

The concert saw Christmas carols filling the air with festive magic and community cheer as the heart-warming event captivated residents and visitors alike, bringing the joy of the holiday season to the heart of Ekurhuleni.

“We designed the immersive experience to engage the community and spread the spirit of togetherness, featuring a talented cast of singers and musicians who took centre stage, transforming the streets into a festive wonderland,“ said Pascar Dube, theatre manager.

“The concert line-up featured timeless classics and contemporary favourites, all presented in various South African languages.

“The innovative, immersive celebration reflected the true spirit of South African unity in diversity and added a distinctive touch to the traditional Christmas carol experience.

“The concert lineup included Dr Tu Nokwe, Angel Zondo, Nokukhanya Dlamini, Sizolwethu Special School, EMPD choir, Ekurhuleni Gospel Choir and DMT practitioners.

“They requested attendees to make an entrance donation of non-perishable goods such as non-perishable grocery essentials, general hygiene products, sanitary and female products, sweets and confections.

“The proceeds of the donation will go to the identified shelter for children with different needs,” said Dube.
