Germiston SAPS hold memorial service for their fallen officer

Germiston SAPS pays respect to their fallen officer.

Germiston SAPS held a memorial service to remember Warrant Officer Reuben Msolo Matjie.

Matjie joined the Germiston SAPS in 1992.

On the morning of November 4, family and friends received the news of his passing.

He died from an illness at home.

He was described by colleagues as a friendly, open-minded person who was passionate about the youth and improving services rendered by the SAPS.

Matjie was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1998 and to the rank of warrant officer in 2015.
He served in the force for 31 years.

Family members pay their last tributes to Warrant Officer Reuben Msolo Matjie.

He he was honoured with medal for 20 years loyal service in 20212 and with the 2010 Soccer World Cup support medal. In 2013 he was awarded the centenary award medal as the police force celebrated 100 years.

In 2022 he was awarded with a 30 years of loyal service medal.
