Many treats in store for the upcoming Portuguese festival

The second Madeira Fest descends on Casa dos Poveiros in Dyanglen, Boksburg, from November 3 to 5.

The second Madeira Fest descends on Casa dos Poveiros in Dyanglen, Boksburg, from November 3 to 5.

Hosted by Caravela Events and the Portuguese Forum of South Africa, Madeira Fest 2023 committed to donating a portion of ticket sales to Hospice East Rand and Boksburg SPCA.

Three days of musical bliss await, with a star-studded lineup of artists, including Mango Groove, Lee Cole and James Deacon and celebrated local and Madeiran performers, including Miguel Preguiero, Miro Freitas, Buzico and João Quintino, Afrikaans superstars Steve Hofmeyr, Karlien van Jaarsveld and Refentse and DJs Luis Almeida, Jay Em, Rix and Timo ODV.

There will also be a variety of mouth-watering Portuguese dishes, cool caipirinhas or poncha, delicious pastéis de natas and espresso, an outdoor market, secure kids’ zone and traditional dancing.

Dance the ‘Bailinho’ as a display of Madeira’s rich culture, with various traditional folklore dances, accompanied by traditional regional voices and musical instruments.
