More electricial faults jeopardising water supply

Rand Water monitors Palmiet system damaged during a thunderstorm on September 19, resulting in water supply interruptions.

Another electrical fault, this time at Rand Water’s Mapleton system, is affecting water supply.

The water supply interruption affecting residents in Vosloorus is due to a fault at Rand Water’s (RW) Mapleton system which occurred last night, 25 September.

At the same time, technicians are closely monitoring RW’s Palmiet system which was damaged last week by a severe thunderstorm and later experienced an internal electrical fault.

“While water supply has been reinstated to most parts of the City, the water network is slowly recovering to customers in high lying areas,” said City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

This is affecting water supply in Bedfordview, Essexwold, Homestead, Marlands, Primrose, Solheim, Sunnyridge and Vosloorus.
