Germiston artist bags another award for his creative genius
“My dream is to have my own shop and create employment for people in the process.”
Germiston fashion designer, poet and businessman Mosotho Mokoena has won his second MIA-GMA Human Creativity Award, further cementing his status as a creative force to be reckoned with.
Mokoena, who has received support from fans for his stylish suits, expressed his gratitude for the award and thanked those who have supported him throughout his journey.
His passion for fashion was evident when he showcased his winning outfit at the awards ceremony, which was made from a tablecloth.

Despite facing tough competition from designers from all around the country, Mokoena’s unique style and creativity shone through and earned him the top prize.
“My dream is to have my own shop and create employment for people in the process,” said Mokoena who is also a talented poet.
He won his first award ever in 2017 in China for showcasing his skills as an artist, thanks to the support of the state under Ace Magashule’s direction as the Free State premier.
This trip to China opened up new opportunities for Mokoena, and he now holds the title of best poet at the Mbashe Youth Awards 2020.

Mokoena’s journey continued when he won the best creative writing and literature award at the MIA Awards in 2022.
This recognition further solidified his status as a talented and accomplished artist.
With his sights set on expanding his business and creating employment opportunities, Mokoena is scheduled to appear at the Mara A Basotho Heritage Day event in Katlehong, followed by the Vezikhono Talent Show in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
He holds a wealth of awards and recognition, and his talent and creativity continue to inspire others.
