CoE’s swimming pools are now open

All swimming pools, except for the Boksburg North and Delville pools operate from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00 on Sundays and public holidays.

City of Ekurhuleni public swimming pools are open after the winter shutdown.

During the winter break, the city conducted maintenance and repairs of pools to prepare them for the splish-splash season which started on September 1.

A total of 18 community pools located across Ekurhuleni are open to all bathers to cool off, for fitness, and for leisure purposes.

“We are aware that communities are always looking forward to the re-opening of the pools,” said City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

“The entrance fee to all community pools as per the new tariffs is R11 per person and R15 for Delville in Germiston and Boksburg North Swimming Pool in Boksburg which are category A pools.

“Category A pools are swimming pools that are Olympic size and heated. They are high-profile pools for the hosting of provincial, national and international events.”

All swimming pools, except for the Boksburg North and Delville pools operate from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00 on Sundays and public holidays.

Delville Swimming Pool operate as follows:

• Tuesday to Thursday from 05:00 to 20:00.

• Friday from 05:00 to 17:00.

• Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00.

• Sunday from 14:00 to 18:00.

“School children will not be allowed entry to public swimming pools during school hours unless prior arrangements have been made by their schools. This, however, is subject to approval by the city’s Sports and Recreation Department,” said Dlamini.
