Musical legends share their knowledge at Germiston theatre

Dr Bheki and Linah Ngcobo led a master class in music at the Dumisani Masilela Theatre in Germiston on August 31.

The maskandi and gospel artists shared their expertise gained in the music business.

They discussed the harsh realities musicians confront and the positive aspects of being an artist.

The seminars, according to Bheki, known as Ihashi Elimhlophe, taught etiquette in music to up-and-coming musicians.

“Everything we know about the music business, we picked up from others.

Kheyinamba Mjoli addresses the audience.

“Therefore, it is appropriate that we impart our expertise to people who look up to us. The most important aspect of life is respect. If you respect everyone, young and old, doors will open for you.

“Language is not a concern in music. We were aware of this when we performed abroad to people who barely understood what we were saying,” said Ihashi Elimhlophe.

The two musical legends have visited Asia, Gabon, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Canada.
