The Making a Difference (MAD) Market at Marlands was a beautiful day filled with fun and community support, on July 29.

The community came out to enjoy food and find treasures at the market. The organisers, Deon Mungal and Samantha Lansberg arranged the market to raise funds for NPOs.

“The NPOs we support have little to no funding and rely on the community for help. They do amazing work in the community but for them to be able to continue doing it they need financial support.

“Through this market we are helping them to raise funds and also create awareness about them,” said Mungal.

Itemba Feeding Scheme is looking after a number of families in the community by donating groceries to them every month, through their second-hand shop. Mungal encourages the community to donate to the shop.

“The second-hand shop takes books, clothes, household items and resells it and that money goes towards the feeding scheme,” said Mungal.
