Local TVET College received donations

Siemens Energy supports Local TVET College on Mandela Day.

Siemens Energy supported SAJ Competency Training Institute in Wadeville with much-needed donations on July 18.

Mandela Day calls upon individuals worldwide to dedicate 67 minutes of their time towards acts of kindness, giving back and making a positive impact on communities to foster a more compassionate and inclusive world.

In honour of International Mandela Day, Siemens Energy employees volunteered their time at the SAJ Competency Training Institute to commemorate this day through the planting of trees, donation of mechanical equipment, T-shirts and PPE as well as cleaning up and painting.

The much-needed milling machine was donated to support artisans in their technical training programmes, which will enable future skills required for the energy transition.

“Siemens Energy employees spent the day fostering the partnership between Siemens Energy and the SAJ Competency Training Institute over the years by growing and developing the skills of the energy sector workforce,” said Nivesh Lutchman, the education and corporate social responsibility manager at Siemens Energy.

“Our goals are aligned with Madiba’s legacy to uplift local communities, with a specific focus on skills development. We energize society, that is our purpose and what drives us,” said Lutchman.
