Three arrested for drug possession by EMPD

Illegal drugs estimated at the value of R7 000 were also confiscated.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit arrested three men for possession of and possible dealing in illegal substances on May 18.

The three suspects were arrested in Katlehong where illegal drugs, estimated to a total value of R7 000, were confiscated.

The arrested suspect is expected to appear in court soon.

“Officers received information about individuals selling drugs in the community, and proceeded to a residence next to Impilisweni train station in the Mandela section, where a man in possession of 203 small ziplock bags of dagga, with an estimated value of R1 200, as well as R26 in cash, was arrested,” said EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa.

“During searches in Mandela section, a man was found at his residence on Hlahani Street, in possession of 355 small ziplock bags of dagga and one brown plastic bag with dagga, with an estimated value of R2 500.

“On Mviyo Street, a man in possession of 90 ziplock bags of dagga, with an estimated value of R3 000 was also arrested,” said Thepa.
