Jetour X70 Plus Deluxe review

Jetour, one of the fastest growing SUV brands in China, entered the South African market in September and I recently had a chance to take Jetour Deluxe on a test drive.

I recently had the opportunity to be invited as a passenger during a test drive of the Jetour X70 Plus Deluxe, a new entrant in South Africa’s competitive SUV market.
I am not an expert in cars, but the 1.5T Deluxe variant impressed me with its smooth leather seats and red stitching design, complete with a feature-packed interior.

Design and features
The Jetour’s exterior design is modern and aggressive, with a panoramic glass sunroof and automatic rising handles.
Inside, the Deluxe is spacious, with quality materials and convenient controls. I am talking about the four portable USB ports, folding rear seats and the automatic dimming of the interior rear-view mirror. All this is found in one car. Insane, right?

Performance and handling
The test drive took 30 minutes and I must admit that the ride felt like five minutes. The engine delivered smooth power, while the 6-speed automatic transmission provided seamless shifting. Handling was confident, with minimal body roll.

Safety and technology
How many times have you been stressed when you forget your cell phone charger at home while going on a long-distance trip? Well, stress no more. The Jetour X70 Plus Deluxe has a wireless charging tray specially designed for such situations.
When I thought I heard it all with this car’s amazing features, guess what? There is more! Before you get out of the car, it reminds you not to forget your phone on charge. What a handy feature for the driver.
As I mentioned earlier, I’m not a car expert, but my experience has me yearning for my own.
This beauty also boasts advanced safety features, which include a rear parking camera, 360 degrees panoramic view, parking assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and blind-spot monitoring. As someone who has mirror agnosia (mirror image disease), these features are really helpful.
The infotainment system is user-friendly, with seamless smartphone integration for a convenient driving experience.

Practicality and value
The cargo space is large, with 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
I did forget to see how much fuel we used on the drive, but the car uses an average of 8.5l/100km. The fuel consumption is not bad for this affordable luxury.
The Jetour X70 Plus Deluxe is a solid contender in its category, offering impressive design, amazing features, and outstanding performance. Its value proposition and safety features make it worth considering for families and commuters.
