Primrose Primary hosts career day

"Growing up we were only introduced to a few job fields; we want to give students other possibilities to consider."

Primrose Primary School hosted a career day on October 25, featuring guest speakers from SAPS, EMPD and nurses from Bertha Gxowa Hospital.

The event aimed to inspire Grade Seven students by exposing them to various career paths within law enforcement and healthcare.

School administrator Noko Selepe emphasised the importance of early career awareness as students prepare for high school.

“As students enter high school next year, they’ll soon need to decide on their vocational paths,” said Selepe.

“Growing up, we were only introduced to a few job fields; we want today’s students to see more possibilities.”

Selepe noted strong engagement, particularly with the nurses and police representatives and encouraged students to explore their interests further.

“It’s important for students to hear from professionals in the field and to strive for excellence, especially in subjects like math, which opens doors to fields like medicine.
