Epworth gets refurbished by organisation

"By painting this house for the girls and fixing their bathrooms we have taken a few things off on their repair list which is a relief for them,”

The Freemasons in South Africa visited Epworth for Mandela Day.

Members of the organisation came in numbers with their families to spend their time painting and fixing one of the girls’ boarding houses.

Different masonry branches supported the Germiston branch.

One of its members, Justin Ducie, said the home is close to their heart because of the wonderful work they do.

“The home does amazing work and it’s always in need of community support.

“By painting this house for the girls and fixing their bathrooms we have taken a few things off on their repair list which is a relief for them,” said Ducie.

He urged the community to continue to support the home.

“Mandela Day allows us to do more and give back. But we aim to make every day a Mandela Day by assisting where we can to make the homes load much lighter,” said Ducie
