Better Primose marks Mandela Day with clean-up

The event received support from Chief Superintendent J. Genhuza of the EMPD, who assisted by closing the main road to ensure the safety of the volunteers.

Better Primrose celebrated Mandela Day by spearheading a community clean-up effort in Primrose.

Approximately 300 members participated in the initiative, aimed at inspiring positive change and creating a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable environment.

Deon Beekhuizen (Roadlab), Mr Van Zyl (Spider Tactical), Mr Brown (Spider Tactical), Lisa Cairns (Better Primrose marketing) and Michael Robinson (Spider Tactical).

The morning saw volunteers enthusiastically cleaning up Rietfontein Road, accompanied by music and dancing.

“Our community clean-up initiative brings together local businesses united by a common goal to create a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable Primrose,” said Lisa Cairns, Better Primrose’s marketing representative.

Different law enforcement officers from the Primrose area supported the Better Primrose activities.

The Primrose SAPS and Gauteng Wardens of the Youth League were also present, promoting community trust and safety.

Cairns extended gratitude to the businesses that sponsored the event.

“A big thank you to SPAR Primrose and Roadlab for their generous donations to our soup kitchen, serving the less fortunate in our community. We are grateful to all our contributors and members for their hard work,” she said.
