Lambton woman takes on challenge to prove that age is just a number

Lambton resident Liezle Wiese is challenging societal norms and proving that age is no obstacle to determination and hard work.

At 56, Liezle has seized the opportunity to compete in the reality show Plaasjapie on Kyknet Channel 144, showcasing her resilience and zest for life.

In an interview with Germiston City News, Liezle shared her motivation for joining the show, extending beyond personal validation.

“I’m here to demonstrate that older women can match, if not surpass, the work ethic of younger contestants on the farm,” Liezle said.

Her participation is also fueled by the desire to secure the R1m prize, offering much-needed financial stability for her family.

Liezle’s husband, Colin, has battled health issues, including a heart attack and stroke, adding urgency to their need for support.

Confident in her strategy, Liezle cites her strong social skills and unwavering work ethic as her competitive edge.
Additionally, she introduces her alter ego, Annabel, who is a fearless persona ready to advocate for what is right in the face of adversity.
