Staff member of a local school retires after 25 years

St Andrew’s School for Girls will bid farewell to a long-serving staff member.

St Andrew’s School for Girls’ long-serving staff member and transport manager, Hamilton Lesetja Tshokwe, will retire at the end of this year.

The school’s head of marketing, Caterina Cannone, said Tshokwe has been a beloved member of their school community for 25 years.

“A quarter-century of devotion, dedication, and commitment. Our girls will fondly remember him for driving them safely to all their activities, tours, and camps.

“He is patient and kind with the girls and has enjoyed their bus songs and jovial banter all these years,” she said.

As a token of appreciation, the school included Tshokwe’s photo on the newly-branded buses so that he would continue to ‘travel’ with the girls long after his retirement.

“We will miss you, Tshokwe,” added Cannone.
