Germiston Bedfordview SPCA to hold annual meeting

The election of a new management committee for the Germiston Bedfordview SPCA will be on the agenda for July 29.

The Germiston Bedfordview SPCA invites its members and the community to the AGM for the 2022/23 financial year.

The AGM will be on July 29 at 14:00. The venue has yet to be confirmed.

Roxanne Bredenkamp, the chairperson of the SPCA, said, “We encourage all community members to attend the AGM because it is an important event for the Germiston Bedfordview SPCA.

“However, please note that only paid-up members of the society in good standing will be eligible to vote on matters discussed at the meeting.”

For patrons unable to attend, a virtual meeting option will be available.

To participate in the virtual meeting, email to secretary@gbvspca.co.za at least 10 days before the meeting.

The agenda will be distributed to all members seven days before the meeting.

One item on the agenda will be the vital nomination and election of members to serve on the management committee.

According to Section 5.1 of the society’s Constitution, the AGM will involve the election of individuals to this role.

Additionally, the meeting will include the following items of business as outlined in Section 5.1 of the Constitution:

• Adoption of the minutes of the previous AGM.

• Receipt and consideration of the annual report by the management committee, including a duly audited balance sheet and income and expenditure account for the preceding year.

• Election of members to the management committee.

• Addressing any relevant business within the competence of the meeting.

• Appointment of an auditor in compliance with the Non-Profit Organisations Act of 1997.

According to Section 9.2 of the Constitution, individuals wanting election to the management committee must submit their names in writing to the secretary.

These submissions should reach the secretary no later than seven clear days before the date of the AGM.

Each submission must have a one-page CV or motivation, which will be available for all members to review at the AGM.
