Local library users invited to take advantage of fine-free week

Patrons can also call their nearest libraries to extend their lending period provided that the return date has not yet been exceeded.

Ekurhuleni libraries are celebrating Fine Free Week from 27 March to 01 April.

During this period, patrons are encouraged to return any overdue material as there would be no extra charge.

“Patrons who may have missed the return dates of books or library material are invited to drop them off at their nearest library and there shall be no questions asked.

“Those who wish to hold on to the books for longer are advised to physically visit a library and get them re-issued for record purposes,” explains Metro’s spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

Patrons can also call their nearest libraries to extend their lending period provided that the return date has not yet been exceeded.

Alternatively, an email can be sent to info.libraries@ekurhuleni.gov.za  with the membership card number clearly stated in the email.
