Local police reach out to community members

The session covered concerns from filling stations relating to the prevention of petrol theft and crime prevention initiatives related to business robberies.

Officers from Edenvale SAPS continue to engage with community members and stakeholders as part of building relationships with external stakeholders to prevent crime in Edenvale.

On March 8, sector managers Sergeant Mampholo, Sergeant Nematenda and Sergeant Mabitsela met with petrol station management.

Edenvale Police Station’s communication officer Warrant Officer Jacob Mashile said the session covered concerns from filling stations relating to the prevention of petrol theft and crime prevention initiatives related to business robberies.

“Discussions about the investigation and the outcomes of case dockets were also on the agenda,” said the station commander of Edenvale SAPS Colonel Ntombomzi Basholo.

She emphasised that policing should be a point on the agenda during all sector crime forums’ meetings.

Basholo said that several successes had been achieved with the assistance of camera systems in Edenvale, especially in the theft of petrol and armed robberies.
