Locals urged to join Guide Dogs Association for a fundraiser

The theme for this year’s event is “Birthday Bash” in celebration of the organisation’s 70th birthday.

The Guide Dogs Association for the Blind will host its family fun day fundraising event on March 5.

This year’s event will take place at 126 Wroxham Road, Paulshof.

The theme for this year’s event is ‘Birthday Bash’ in celebration of the organisation’s 70th birthday.

The event aims to raise much-needed funds to continue changing the lives of visually and physically disabled individuals in South Africa.

The day promises to be one filled with fun and activities. Puppies in training will practice hard to put their best paw forward along with their trainers.

Kennel staff are getting ready to share information with visitors during the kennel tours while exhilarating demonstrations from the Assistance, Service and Guide Dogs await spectators in the arena.

Also on the entertainment bill for the day are the much-anticipated dog races which will take place throughout the day.

The orientation and mobility team are preparing interesting activities where visitors will be challenged to step out of their comfort zone and into the shoes of a visually impaired person.

Visitors can enjoy all the entertainment in the arena while sipping on some bubbly in the beer garden.
