The kitten, whose immune system was likely compromised by the abuse she endured died in the care of Susan Harmse.

She explained that Miracle was diagnosed with colon bladder failure and Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

At the time of her rescue, she had been spray-painted blue and sustained injuries to the head, paws and burns on her ears.

A glue gun had also been used on her, making it difficult for her to relieve herself.

She underwent medical assessments at the Bedfordview Veterinary Hospital organised by the Recycle 4 Rescue.

“She was on a drip twice but that didn’t help.

“You get two different FIP, a wet and dry one.

“With a wet FIP, the virus damages blood vessels and causes fluid leakage into the belly and chest cavity. This fluid is thick, clear yellow, and has a very high protein content.

“With dry FIP, the virus causes inflammation around the blood vessels.

“This inflammation most commonly affects the brain and eyes but can also affect the liver,” stated Harmse.

She describes how she will miss her playing with her teddy and her bravery.
