Elderly man caught for bribery and suspected drug possession in Klopperpark

“He was searched and found with a white substance that was suspected to be drugs."

The Gauteng Highway Patrol, who were informed of suspicious activity occurring in Klopperpark, arrested a 62-year-old suspect.

The man was arrested on October 18 for the possession of suspected drug possession and bribery.

Bedfordview SAPS corporate communication officer Sergeant Lillian Modiga said the officers were patrolling when they received information that a man was dealing drugs at a hotel.

Once they arrived at the location, Modiga said the officers identified the suspect.

“He was searched and found with a white substance that was suspected to be drugs,” said Modiga.

Modiga said after failing to provide officers with information about where he obtained the substance, the suspect offered officers an R1000 bribe.

He was taken to Bedfordview Police Station for detention and made his first appearance in Edenvale Magistrate’s Court on October 19.
