Ekurhuleni woman shares gifts with babies born on her birthday

“The most important part of the day was the smiles that were put on the faces of the mothers when they received the hampers."

Mothers and babies at three hospitals received donations when Edenvale resident Josephine Ofori-Amankwah celebrated her birthday in September.

On September 9, Josephine was joined by fellow celebrant 11-year-old Nana Kofi Obeng Adjei, family and friends in visiting Edenvale Regional Hospital, Bertha Gxowa Hospital and Alexandra Health Centre and Univ Clinic.

Mothers and babies at Edenvale Regional Hospital, Bertha Gxowa Hospital and Alexandra Health Centre and Univ Clinic received donations when hampers were shared with them on September 9. Their goal was to donate hampers filled with essential items and Bibles to children born on the day.

The group also donated to mothers who had given birth on September 7 and 8.

The hampers contained nappies, wet wipes, baby clothes, toys, chocolates, Bibles and blankets
Josephine thanked everyone involved who made the project possible. She also thanked the SA Bible Society for supplying the group with Bibles.

She said it was wonderful to share the day with her family, and friends and have her co-celebrants family there too.

“The most important part of the day was the smiles that were put on the faces of the mothers when they received the hampers,” said Josephine.

 

The group which visited Edenvale Regional Hospital, Bertha Gxowa Hospital and Alexandra Health Centre and Univ Clinic to donate hampers containing essential items to mothers who gave birth on September 9.
