Ekurhuleni district detectives awarded for diligence

Sekgobela said Rabedzwana investigated a case of double murder against accused Mavodze Osbron.

Ekurhuleni District police detectives were awarded certificates for their investigations on July 30.

“Their investigations resulted in convictions.

“Most of the accused received sentences from 15 years to life imprisonment,” said Captain Neldah Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni District SAPS communications officer.

Detectives acknowledged included Sergeant MD Moloantoa from Tembisa SAPS, Sergeant Mathipa from Edenvale SAPS, Sergeant MR Rabedzwana from Tembisa SAPS, Sergeant MG Mncina from Rabie Ridge SAPS and Sergeant Majodina from Rabie Ridge SAPS.

Sekgobela said Rabedzwana investigated a case of double murder against accused Mavodze Osbron.

“He had made an agreement with the victim to drink together.

“They had exchanged their bank cards and cell phones and both failed to return each other’s valuables.

“The accused followed the victim and burned the shack where she was sleeping with her sister. Both the victim and her sister were taken to the hospital where they both died,” said Sekgobela.

Osbron was found guilty of double murder and sentenced to two life sentences.
