Werner Vermeulen Memorial Grand Prix Tennis tournament kicks off

Mantsha announces nine dates leading up to the Grand Prix final in September.

Ace Tennis Academy (ATA) and Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence (ETSOE) will host the Werner Vermeulen Memorial Grand Prix Tennis final tournament in September.

Junior tennis players are invited to enter the tournament.

The Grand Prix will consist of nine tournaments throughout the year with point allocation for participation carried forward to the finals on September 24.

Thereafter, the winners and runners-up in all age categories will be determined and prizes distributed.

ETSOE founder Loyiso Mantsha said each tournament will also have age and category prizes up for grabs.

The entry fee for each tournament is only R150 for academy players and R200 for other players.

Tennis players are encouraged to diarise the following tournaments and dates:
• Singles hard court tournament on March 19 at Alberton Tennis Club. The closing date for entries is March 12
• Doubles hard court tournament on March 21 at Alberton Tennis Club. The closing date for entries is March 14
• Singles hard court tournament on April 18 at Germiston Tennis Club. The closing date for entries is April 11
• Doubles grass tournament on April 27 at Alberton Tennis Club or Alberton High School. The closing date for entries is April 20
• Doubles hard court tournament on May 7 at Germiston Tennis Club and the closing date for entries is April 30
• Singles hard court and time-based tournament on Mary 29 at Alberton Tennis Club. The closing date for entries is May 22
• Singles hard court and time-based tournament on July 2 at Germiston Tennis Club and the closing date is June 25
• Singles handicap tournament on September 3 at Alberton Tennis Club and the closing date is 25 August
• Singles Monrad Draw and Doubles Monrad Draw on September 24 at Alberton and Germiston tennis clubs. The closing date for entries is September 17
