As the club prepares for the upcoming league games, Pule believes in his team’s strength and said that it boasts capable players.
“The league recently started and we are looking forward to it. It is going to be a long season but we are hungry for competition and ready to showcase our talents,“ said Pule.
Pule is a shy man off the court but quickly becomes energetic and talkative on the court.
“I am considered to be a little guy among the other players, probably the shortest among them all,” he laughed.
“When I started playing basketball I was not that good. I do my best to improve. There has been an improvement in my game thanks to the guys who push me every time to become better. I have been part of the team since 2019 when it was formed and formalised.”
He said in the first year of league competition. the team progressed to the playoffs but lost.
“We will take each game as it comes and hope to reach great heights again,” said Pule.
His teammate Diego Mashabela said the team helped him become better on and off the court.
“Every time we play, our passion for basketball grows. We have come a long way since 2019 to play in the league,” said Mashabela.
He added that the pandemic has ‘stolen’ his chance to play for the Vaal University of Technology basketball team.
“I am currently studying information technology at Ekurhuleni East TVET College. Hopefully one day I will get to study for software development at Vaal and be granted the opportunity to play for them,” said Mashabela.
