Dawnview High School announced its 2022 representative council of learners on February 4.

To make the day even more special, the school made history when they announced their first female president, Owami Kgafane.

In her first speech as president, Owami expressed her gratitude to her teachers for moulding her into the young woman she is today.

“In four years of being in school, it has become family to me. To be honoured with this role, I’m humbled,” said Owami.

The young philanthropist committed herself to serving the school and always hold the Dawnview flag high.

“I have a great team behind me and great teachers to guide me. I look forward to what lies ahead in this journey,” said Owami.

The new president also runs an NPO called Wami Foundation, which collects clothes and donates them to the needy.

She has recently added youth development and women empowerment programmes to uplift the hopeless.
