Lookout for snakes

City of Ekurhuleni reminded residents that the recent down pours erode the soil which then expose snakes hide out and also wash out the snakes into people’s habitat.

Residents should expect to see more snakes following the rains experienced in the past few weeks.

City of Ekurhuleni reminded residents that the recent downpours erode the soil which then exposes snakes’ hideout and also wash out the snakes into people’s habitat.

Snakes thrive in warm temperatures and with the recent heavy rains they may seek better shelter that may even be inside people’s houses.

The South African Weather Services have predicted warm and sunny days in the next coming five days, which means we will be seeing more of the hissing creatures out there too.

The snakes season is set to last until the end of May.
