The City of Ekurhuleni received a notification from Rand Water about a planned 50-hour water supply interruption fromJanuary 28 to 30.

The supply interruption is due to tie-in of a pipe to the main supply pipeline by Rand Water in Germiston.

The following areas will be affected: 

• Rand Refinery plant
• Wadeville
• Lambton
• Dinwiddie
• Albemarle
• Raceway Industries
• Gosforth
• Germiston South Industrial

“Kindly note that this does not mean that there will be no supply of water during the shutdown. However, due to the duration of the shutdown and that some direct supply meters are going to be affected, your areas may experience intermittent water supply interruption, low pressure that can result to no water supply because of drop in levels of reservoirs,” Rand Water said in a note to the CoE.
