Ward 36 Clr Wendy Morgan shared how she experienced 2021 and her plans for 2022.

“Issues like service delivery are to be inherited in the new year and they can’t be avoided,” said Morgan.

She also thanked residents for their continued support and for standing together during difficult times, especially in light of Covid-19.

“My prayer is that we are all safe and our lives can continue in the new normal.”
She added her biggest challenge of 2021 was the constant power outages throughout Germiston and water outages in Sunnyridge.

“Despite those challenges we prevailed. These challenges can’t be avoided. I will be hoping to get the metro to upgrade the substations and infrastructure.”

She also mentioned that the community will have to work together more like never before to prevent criminals who steal cables that result in power faults.

Morgan added that illegal buildings continue to be a big challenge.

“I have nothing against development, but they should build according to regulations so the infrastructure is not affected.”

She said her immediate focus in 2022 will be to resolve the water supply problems in her ward,

“Roads and potholes have to be a priority, service delivery issues have to be resolved and the community will have to be part of the problem-solving structures,” she said.
