SAPS elect junior management core

The objective of the Junior Management Core is for junior members in the SAPS to share practices that can be implemented into better policing.

The National Commissioner of SAPS recently introduced a turnaround strategy for the service that aims to transform the organisation as required by the national development plan.

The introduction of the strategy saw SAPS members of the Ekurhuleni District gather at New Day Church on December 14, 2021.

Capt Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni District communications officer, said the strategy aims to render effective and efficient services to society as mandated by the Constitution.

“It depicts the introduction of participative management as a key driver in the implementation and realisation of the new vision for the organisation,” said Sekgobela.

Sekgobela said to support the initiative, SAPS members in Ekurhuleni District gathered at the church to elect executive members for the junior management core.

The event was attended by deputy Ekurhuleni district commissioner Brig Lebohang Machakela and other senior members.

At the event, Sgt Media Khoza of Germiston SAPS gave insight into the core, its background, why it was established, its strategic direction, vision, aims and objectives.

Sekgobela explained that the objective of the core is for junior members in the SAPS to share practices that can be implemented into better policing.

Machakela said that since the elections took place inside a church, he has no doubt that newly elected structures were chosen by God and they will be blessed.

He encouraged the junior members to be innovative, to allow themselves to lead and to be led, to improve themselves, support each other and work harder to flourish.
