House and cars damaged in residential fire

The kitchen, dining room and lounge were damaged. The roof collapsed and other sections of the house and bedrooms suffered from smoke and water damage.

City of Ekurhuleni Emergency Services responded to a fire on December 2 at a Lambton residential property.
DEMS media liaison officer William Ntladi said they received the call at about 08.20. Upon arrival, responders found a house on fire.

“We responded with a fleet of five fire engines and two water tankers,” said Ntladi.

He said they were able to bring the fire under control.

“By that time half the house was completely burnt. The kitchen, dining room and lounge were damaged. The roof collapsed and other sections of the house and bedrooms suffered from smoke and water damage. Three vehicles also burned,” explained Ntladi.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and there were no fatalities.

Germiston Central, Wadeville and Boksburg Central fire stations responded to the fire.
