Despite heavy rains, Ying led a team to Lambano to deliver the parcels that were collected from members of the Guizhou Chamber of Commerce.

According to her, due to the impact of the epidemic, businesses are experiencing difficulties financially and donations to charities have decreased.

This has resulted in shortages of food and daily necessities.

Ying called on members of the Chamber of Commerce to raise funds and after consultation with Lambano, food items including rice, cornmeal, macaroni, cooking oil, canned food, washing powder, clothes, soap, diapers, toiletries and more were purchased for a handover to Lambano.

Lambano Sanctuary provides holistic residential care to children who have suffered deprivation, abandonment and are orphaned or made vulnerable by HIV/Aids at its four homes.

The organisation also provides multi-level intervention through palliative care or treatment of children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.

Lambano was established in May 2001, as an organisation that cares and provides treatment support for HIV-infected and affected children.

At that time only a few organisations took HIV-positive children into their care and it’s for that reason the organisation was founded.

Lambano’s mission is to help children who have been abandoned/orphaned, especially those affected by HIV/Aids. They also envision providing these children with a caring environment, where they will be nurtured and cared for physically, emotionally and spiritually with unconditional love.

As an NGO, Lambano relies on funds in order to continue its services to benefit the disadvantaged children in its care.
