Property valuation objection process on track – CoE

The duplicates were caused by multiple submissions of objections on individual properties.

Although the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) received over 47 000 objections regarding its 2021 to 2025 general valuation roll, it has stated that the objection process is on track.

CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said all objections have been resolved, except for 400 special properties.

“The remaining properties will be finalised during this month,” said Dlamini.

Dlamini said of the 47 610 objections received by CoE, 4 270 were duplicates.

The duplicates were caused by multiple submissions of objections on individual properties.

Dlamini said once the objection process is finalised, property owners will receive their objection outcome letters from the municipal valuer via email and post notifying objectors and/or property owners.

“Once the outcome is received, property owners can appeal,” he said.

The appeal period closes on March 4.

Dlamini said those who have objected and do not receive their objection outcome letter by January 20 need to visit the valuations section at Kempton Park Civic Centre.

At Kempton Park Civic Centre, objectors must request a re-print of the objection outcome letter or request to be assisted with the submission of the appeal.

“No appeals will be accepted via email, only hand-deliveries will be accepted at the valuations section,” said Dlamini.
