Centre manager Trudy Carreira said times are hard and the elderly feel it.

“There is a daily need for food parcels which RAW distributes to the needy and we have no stock for the Christmas project.

“Some elderly can’t afford much and some don’t even have families. We try to assist with groceries because we know it goes a long way,” said Trudy.

Those who are interested in donating can buy non-perishable food items, toiletries and day-to-day necessities.

Items can be dropped off at Rest-a-While at the corner of Shamrock and Churchill, opposite Pick n Pay.
