Southerner to defend his WBA Pan African title

No Love Lost boxing tournament.

Ricardo Malajika, who hails from the South, will put his World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan African title on the line when he defends it against Sabelo Ngebinyana.

No Love Lost Boxing Tournament will be presented by Golden Gloves Promotions and take place on December 4 at Emperors Palace, where two title fights will happen. The boxing will start at 19:00.

The 12-round bantamweight title fight between Malajika and his challenger from the Western Cape is evenly matched, with the latter having a small edge on the experience. He will go into the fight with a record of 13 wins and five losses and is trained by Bruno Pereira.

Malajika, who is trained by Vusi Mtolo, comes into the ring as champion with eight wins and a single loss.

In the main bout of the evening, two of the young prospects in the country will go toe to toe in the ring. The WBA Pan African champion, Brandon Thysse, will face his opponent, Roarke Knapp, who also hails from the South, for the WBA Pan African junior middleweight title.

Knapp, trained by Marco/Vusi, is also the International Boxing Organisation (IBO) youth champion. He has a record of 12 wins, one loss and a draw.

Coming out of the Damien Durandt camp is Thysse, who will have everything to fight for to retain his title in this exciting championship against Knapp. He boasts 14 fights, two losses and a draw.

In the other bouts, Shervontaigh Koopman will take on Henriques Lando in a 10-round junior middleweight fight while Wilhelm Nebe will come up against Juan Roux in a six-rounder heavyweight battle and Phikelani Khumalo will fight Thembani Mhlanga in a middleweight contest over six rounds.
