Burning Stars win new jersey

Burning Stars made history as the first Bakgatla Football Academy Tournament champions on Heritage Day at Driehoek Sports Ground in Germiston.
The Primrose-based football club walked away with a full kit and gold medals by the end of the tournament.
Philani ‘Killer’ Ncube, the Burning Stars coach, celebrated the victory and thanked the organisers for a much-needed tournament in the area.

Ncube said, “We won new jerseys, which is something precious. It’s not a secret that we need jerseys and other resources.
“It was an amazing tournament. It was inspiring and memorable to see my team win on Heritage Day.”
He said the new kit will be useful when they play their league games in the Germiston Local Football Association.
Tshepo Mokotedi, founder and organiser of the tournament, congratulated the champs and extended his gratitude to all the sponsors and participating teams.
“We thank WL Distributors for sponsoring us. This was our first annual event to uplift local football teams and empower young people to keep away from drugs and crime,” said Mokotedi.
