The Springbok’s 2021 rugby calendar is almost coming to an end and it has been a great return to rugby for the current World Cup Champions. The Bokke played their first international match since becoming World Champions in 2019 against the British and Irish Lions, who toured South Africa earlier this year.

The British and Irish tour consisted of three matches against the hosts and South Africa went on to win the series. The last time the Lions toured South Africa was in 2009 when the Springboks also won the series. The Springboks then turned their attention to the Rugby Championship that is currently underway between New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Africa.

South Africa played their first two matches of the tournament at home against their counterparts from South America. Both matches were played at the Nelson Mandela bay stadium in the Eastern Cape. The matches took place earlier this year in August and South Africa went on to win both matches. Both countries then made the trip to Australia where the rest of the Rugby Championship matches will be played.

Australia and New Zealand also played their two matches against each other and the Kiwis came out on top in both games. The Bokke played their first match against the hosts this past Sunday and came very close to winning but was ultimately beaten with two points. New Zealand is at the top of the log and South Africa will need to win the upcoming match against Australia on Saturday to give them the confidence for their last remaining games. The kick off time of the second match against Australia is an early one at 09.05 in the morning. South Africans will need to get up early in order to watch the game.

A loss in the upcoming game would make it complicated for the Springboks to win the series. The last two matches of 2021 for the Springboks will be against their biggest rivals the All Blacks. Both matches against New Zealand will be played in Australia with the first game taking place next weekend on the 25th of September. The Springboks last game for the year will be played on Saturday the 2nd of October at 12.05.

Betway Rugby online betting has the odds on all of the remaining matches of Springboks in the Rugby Championship.
