LamDel donates to Child Welfare

We need them to continue their amazing work.

Once again LamDel neighbours responded to a call for assistance.

Child Welfare Germiston contacted LamDel vice-chairperson Lyn Opie, requesting assistance for them to continue the work they do.

“I shared the request with LamDel exco that Child Welfare Germiston is in need and they were excited to help where possible,” said Lyn.

The association obtained a wish list from Child Welfare and also learned about its new project, Baby’s First Box.

“We shared the list with the community and residents opened their hearts. We were able to put together 12 boxes,” said Lyn.

The box consists of bottles and teats, Vaseline, powder, cream, socks and hats, seasonal clothing, baby blankets, baby grows, vests, bibs, a facecloth, nappies, baby wipes, baby soap, shampoo, cotton wool, formula and a cuddle bear.

On August 12 Child Welfare Germiston celebrated their 109th birthday and LamDel gifted them 12 boxes.

The LamDel Neighbours In Need Project is part of LamDel Residents Association.

LamDel covers Delville, Denlee, Klippoortjie North, Hazeldene, Hazelpark, Lambton, Webber, Parkhill Gardens and Germiston Lake.

The LamDel Neighbours In Need Project started just after the LamDel Residents Association was established as they identified the need in the community to help out residents, as well as those in neighbouring suburbs.

A percentage of the LamDel membership fees are ring-fenced for the Neighbours In Need Project, and the welfare team raises funds in various ways to raise more funds.
