Two men nabbed after copper cable theft

Two men will appear in court for charges of copper theft.

Primrose SAPS arrested two men for theft of a copper cable at Goudrif High School on August 8.

Corporate communications officer Sgt Styles Maome said the police received a report about the theft and attended to the complaint.

“On arrival, members of the community handed two men, who had been in possession of copper cable to the value of R5 000, over to the police.

“Witnesses told the police they saw the men jump over a fence while in possession of the copper cable and started running.”

The members of the community chased them and cornered them.

The acting station commander, Lt-Col Mbazima Maswanganyi, applauded the community.

“We wish others can learn from this community. If we work together, we can make Primrose a safe place.”
