Political parties are kicking off their voter registration campaigns for 2021 local government elections.
People are urged to check their voter status with the IEC and the youth are encouraged to register to vote.
People are reminded that they will need their IDs or their temporary identity document and those who relocated will need to update residential details.

South African citizens who do not have their identity documents can obtain temporary IDs from Home Affairs.
These are valid for two months.
