Three arrested for possession of stolen properties

Primrose SAPS arrested three suspects for different cases of possession of suspected stolen properties.

The first incident happened on April 26 around 1.15pm on Pandora Road in Malvern East.

“The police were patrolling and were stopped by a man who informed them his motorbike was stolen. Officers noticed a man pushing a motorbike, which matched the description provided by the complainant,” said Primrose SAPS communications officer Sgt Styles Maome.

According to Maome, the suspect fled and was chased by the police. “When the suspect saw the police, he dropped the bike and tried to flee. Officers caught him and he was arrested and detained at the Primrose SAPS,” said Maome.

The second incident happened the same day at around 7.30pm when officers were on patrol on Keswick Road. According to Maome, the police saw a suspicious man carrying a bag and stopped him.

“They introduced themselves and asked to search him and the bag. They found copper wire, which he confirmed that he had stolen from work. When the police asked for his work address he refused to provide the information. He was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station,” said Maome.

The last incident happened on April 28 on Oak Avenue in Primrose East. According to the police, the complainant received a notification about theft and sent the operational manager to investigate.

“On arrival, he found a man who gave him the address where two men were burning cable belonging to Telkom. The complainant went there and found the two suspects still burning the cable. They were arrested and handed to the police,” said Maome.
