Breinmeester in Primrose collecting bottle caps for wheelchair donations

School director Lynn Naudé said they have to reach 150kg of collected caps.

Breinmeester Akademie, a tutor and homework centre in Primrose East, have collected 113.96kg worth of bottle caps for a wheelchair donation by November 30.

School director Lynn Naudé said they have to reach 150kg of collected caps.

“Once we reach the target we will receive a wheelchair to give to a child who otherwise remains dependent on others for mobility. We could not have done this without each child, including our youngest contributor who is only two.

“Parents and staff members also worked together to collect as many caps as possible,” said the director.

Lynn added the academy’s management decided to make this an ongoing project.

The Sweethearts Foundation is an NPO that collects bottle tops and bread tags, recycles them and then purchases wheelchairs for underprivileged members of different communities.

“We took the challenge to heart and we are still collecting bottle caps for the wheelchair donation,” said Lynn.
