Busted with cocaine worth R30 000

“A 27-year-old male driver and a passenger were arrested after a stop-and-search was conducted.”

Two men were arrested for possession of cocaine valued at R30 000 on November 7.

EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said a grey Hyundai i20 with two male occupants was spotted driving in a zig-zag manner.

“The vehicle was pulled over by the Drug Enforcement Squad on the N3 near Radio Road Bridge.

“A 27-year-old male driver and a passenger were arrested after a stop-and-search was conducted.”

Mokheseng added officers uncovered two plastic packets containing knotted and pressed cocaine.

“The passenger alleged he was not aware of the criminal happenings around him.

“He was released on a warning.

“The vehicle, which belonged to a family member of the driver, was impounded and taken to Germiston Police Station for safekeeping.

“The driver faces charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substance.

“Officers took him to the Germiston Police Station,” said the EMPD officer.
