Due to Covid-19 regulations, Germiston SAPS held a two-day school talk under the Safer Schools Programme recently at Colin Mann Primary School.

Const Maxwell Mabunda, Germiston SAPS communications officer, said they addressed about 107 Grade Seven learners on peer pressure and life choices.

“The learners had the opportunity to ask questions on how to deal with such challenges.”

Members of the Social Crime Prevention Unit, sector managers and Victim Empowerment Centre from Germiston SAPS also participated in speaking to learners.

Mabunda shared more advice for learners getting ready to attend high school.

“Never lose your focus on your education.

“The principal Lauren Murray and her staff appreciated our visit and the talks presented to the learners,” said Mabunda.

Mabunda added the principal requested ongoing visits from the police in the future to address learners’ challenges.
