Elsburg SAPS visits Lambton school

Through the talk, the learners were able to engage with the police and ask questions.

On October 2 the Elsburg SAPS social crime prevention members, communications officer, sector managers and victim empowerment centre visited Lambton Christian School to address and educate learners about crime.

The sector one manager, Sgt Erin Palmer, addressed learners about different crimes, such as abuse, substance abuse, drugs, domestic violence and safety measures on how to prevent such crimes.

Through the talk the learners were able to engage with the police and ask questions.

Learners were advised to report any crime they may be experiencing in their lives or any crime that was committed in their presence.

Several vulnerable learners came forth and were identified.

Sgt Rose Monageng will liaise with relevant stakeholders to intervene concerning their matters.

Learners were also encouraged to focus on their studies.

“The presence of men and women in blue and other stakeholders brought a positive impact to learners because they were able to speak their minds and were referred for further assistance at social development level if needed,” said Elsburg SAPS communications officer Sgt Daphney Phooko.
