A 36-year-old woman was arrested in Makause informal settlement for the concealment of birth.
According to police, they received a complaint and later found a baby in a pit toilet. Paramedics were notified and the child was declared dead on the scene.

Police stated it was estimated that the child was eight months into term. Investigations started and the woman was arrested.
She was detained at Primrose SAPS and charged with concealment of birth.
She appeared at Germiston Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed for a plea.
