Four suspects were arrested for the possession of narcotics on September 17 in Delville and Primrose.

EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said in the first arrest, the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members uncovered 26 ziplocks of khat valued at R5 200 and R1 000 cash from a suspicious-looking 40-year old on Ostend Road, Delville, during a crime prevention operation.

“The suspect was taken to Germiston Police Station,” said Mokheseng.

“On Rietfontein Road, in Primrose, two men and a woman between the age of 28 and 38 were cornered and searched.

“Three ziplocks of crystal meth, a digital portable scale and 24 ziplocks of dagga valued at R1 900 and R300 cash were uncovered. The trio was escorted to Primrose Police Station,” said Mokheseng.

He said the four face charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances and are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
