New name, new heights at Heavenly Flowers

On October 4, Heavenly Flowers will reveal a new name and a whole new chapter. The local crèche is blossoming into an approved private primary school and is spreading its wings.

Natasha Viljoen, communications and marketing manager of Heavenly Flowers, said during Covid-19 they did not sit back as they were already in the process of representing their online school option.

“The online school will enable children from all over the country to enroll and learn from the comfort of their own homes.”

Natasha added Heavenly Flowers partnered with XD CoLaB to allow a system introduction for children who would not find space in schools due to a shortage of educators.

Founder and owner Heidi Searle and her team will launch the primary school’s name, School of Affirmation, on the school’s 13th birthday.

“If there was one thing that Nelson Mandela has taught us was even though a single person can make a difference, it is ultimately standing together with like-minded strong individuals which really makes the difference.

“Heavenly Flowers will always exist, that is where we started and we are very proud of the brand we created. It will just exist as our pre-primary school based in 28 Fourth Avenue, Lambton Germiston.

“We will continue to lay the foundation for our toddlers to be strong and courageous leaders and embrace our very own primary school,” said Heidi.

“With the launch of our new name comes an exciting new territory. We are receiving phenomenal results and feedback from our registered learners and parents on our online classroom.

“We believe that no one should be left behind and that we should adapt our way of teaching whilst the world and the education system are in chaos,” added the school owner.

Currently, the private and online school serve children from Grade RR to Grade Seven.

“We are hopeful to get the department’s approval to extend our services into the senior market in the near future, this will however only be for online purposes.”

When asked how the community could assist Heavenly Flowers with this forward-thinking movement, Heidi said she hopes for reaffirmation from the community to her continued quest in unifying and empowering learners.

“No child should have their education jeopardised and we are looking forward to this new journey.”
